Celebrating Our 2026 Graduates

Our Mission

Enhancing the socioeconomic potential of American Indians and Native Hawaiians through job training and education

About Us

The Indian Training & Education Center (ITEC) is a federally funded program authorized under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). ITEC serve Native American, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian individuals living in Utah who are pursuing education or career training.

ITEC supports students enrolled in high school or GED programs, college, and other approved training and workforce development programs. We offer continuous recruitment and have no application deadlines, allowing eligible students to apply at any time throughout the year.

Who Qualifies for ITEC Assistance?

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for ITEC services, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Be low income
  • Provide proof of Native American, Alaska Native, or Native Hawaiian descent
  • Be a resident of Utah
  • Be able to complete their education or training program within 12 months

High school students are an exception to the 12‑month completion requirement. Eligible high school students may participate in the program for all four years of high school and may begin participation in any grade at any time during the school year.
